Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi: God’s Restored People is unavailable, but you can change that!

The ministry of Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi is a record of how God deals with people he has restored as they try to translate their basic loyalty to him into practical action. Restoring their temple and the physical trappings of their ravaged kingdom was not an end in itself. God was, and is, primarily interested in obedient minds and wills in people who have a heart for God.

prophet asks questions which make clear that this is no matter to be trifled with. It would be unexpected; it could also be unpleasant. But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? (3:2). The rhetorical questions suggest the answer that no one will be able to do so. ‘Endure’ implies a searching ordeal that none will be able to cope with. ‘The day of the LORD is great; it is dreadful.
